MISSION, KS – ScriptPro and TeleManager Technologies, Inc. have joined together to offer advanced functionality for the Refill TeleManager ™ Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) through ScriptPro’s SP Central Workflow System. Together, they provide a versatile, yet easy-to-use and affordable IVR System that coordinates pharmacy workflow, maximizing efficiency and dispensing accuracy while providing visibility into your pharmacy operation.

The newly integrated IVR/workflow product provides services that are unique in the industry. Patients will have more information regarding the status of their prescriptions and pharmacists will know in real-time the exact status and location of every prescription.

With ScriptPro’s integrated IVR, patients can call the pharmacy and punch in a prescription number to request a refill. They can get complete information about the status of a prescription on the phone, such as, if the doctor has authorized the refill yet, or if the prescription is ready to be picked up. The pharmacist can click and view instantly all prescription orders coming through the IVR, and see their status on the SP Checkpoint or SP Station workflow screen. Using multimedia graphics, a pharmacist has options to view, listen, enter data or transcribe on the screen. SP Central maintains a log of all pharmacy calls during the past week, and any discrepancies can be quickly investigated by checking the log.

The integrated system provides pharmacists the opportunity to optimize patient service and satisfaction as well as pharmacy profits. For example, the enhanced IVR system will make outbound calls to remind patients to refill or pick-up prescriptions. Studies show that when patients receive the reminder calls, the total number of prescriptions filled actually increases. In a recent analysis performed in a pharmacy filling 400 prescriptions per day, 100 calls were placed to remind people to pick up a filled prescription. Of the people called, 85% picked up their prescription within a few days. When patients received a phone call reminder to refill a prescription, 20% authorized the refill during the call.
